Temporary Archivist for Music  Entrepreneur’s Photo Archives

We are currently seeking a temporary Archivist, who specializes in Digital Archives,  to work closely with a Music Entrepreneur in managing extensive Photo and Art Archives. This position is temporary, project oriented, expected to last for a few months, and is a full-time role with a 40-hour workweek (Monday through Friday).

Primary Responsibilities:
Organize, add metadata / appropriate tags, remove duplicates, generally streamline a massive photo and video inventory using Lightroom. May change programs and need to be familiar with other options + organizational options for a library of such a large size.
Must be meticulous and detail-oriented – will need to check each item to make sure everything is accounted for that’s both physical and digital within the the realm of the computer files.
Systematically assess collections according to project guidelines.

Arrange collections meticulously based on prescribed arrangement guidelines for each collection.
Re-house collection materials using appropriate housings for each format type and accurately label those housings.
Record collection metadata accurately.
Must have exceptional organizational skills (ability to think big picture and know how to best organize the archive), as well as some IT awareness to make sure best practice is being followed.

Provide assistance to the project manager with additional assigned duties related to the project as needed.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience with digital archives required. Any graphic design abilities would be greatly appreciated.
Familiarity with computer skills, including lightroom, photoshop, and IT knowledge.
Must be able to laser focus on organizational administrative archiving for focused work – there will be a deadline on this goal and project and it’s very important to reach goals.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks consistently and accurately.
Strong organizational skills to effectively manage processing variations between collections.
Keen attention to detail for meticulous metadata capture.
Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new tasks.
Professional attitude and excellent work ethic.
Reliable transportation for commuting to the job site.
