Monday through Friday hours as needed, some schedule flexibility required.
Salary $120-$150K, based on experience. + Paid time off, and medical benefits.
Looking for a highly motivated individual to act as a private chef for a venture capital firm founder and CEO based in Silicon Valley (San Francisco proper). Within private residence, chef for lunches and afternoon appetizers, as well multi-course dinners Monday through Friday evening. Client is looking for someone to be a long term partner and employee, and build with him and his family.
Key Responsibilities:
  • All service is a la minute (no packaged, grab-and-go, etc.) for lunch and snack service
  • Dinner service is Monday through Thursday, four to five courses each night, from two to
  • eight guests
  • Chef is responsible for table service except for larger parties where additional help may
  • be brought on
  • All shopping and menuing are performed by chef
  • Chef handles kitchen cleanup and organization, housekeeper handles all other cleaning

 

Requirements:

  • Able to work in San Francisco, CA
  • Experience as a private chef – private yacht experience especially valuable
  • Ability to produce creative menus with depth of variety
  • Specific focus on Japanese (sushi not necessary) and Mediterranean preparations
  • Most recipes gluten and dairy free “health conscious”
  • Restaurant quality preparation and presentation
  • Unshakeable service mentality – absence of “chef ego”
  • Access to latest culinary trends and ability to tastefully integrate to the menu cycle
  • General knowledge of nutrition concepts
  • Recognized sanitation certification, exceptional hygiene and organization skills
  • Extreme discretion and professionalism in a highly sensitive environment
